Lancaster’s CommUnityFEST celebration will be held in and around downtown Lancaster’s Binns Park, from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. on Saturday September 15, 2007.
The Lancaster County Human Relations Commission’s Police and Community committee will again host this annual happening that brings First Responders, social service agencies and the community together for a day of food, fun, music, and understanding.
Everyone will have the opportunity to pet a police horse, see a fire truck up close, and talk with the various First Responders from throughout the county in what will be a relaxed and fun setting.
Our activities will also include the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster’s Day for Kids events that will “Celebrate and honor America's children by spending meaningful time with them.”
Everyone will also get to enjoy the exciting entertainment being provided by our great musical groups: DC & Company Los Fantasticos and To Begin Amour.
Once again, the event will feature a “Chili Cook-off”, pitting various public safety agencies against one another for a year of bragging rights. And the public has the pleasure of being the judges and sampling the great fare they have to offer.
First Responders will also be involved in the entertainment in other surprising ways!
And there will be some fine food being offered for sale by various local vendors.
This event is free and open to everyone.
Parents are encouraged to bring their kids
and kids to bring their parents for a day of fun and community building.
